I did not mount the ground wire on the battery negative terminal. See Removing the fuel tank for hints on raising the fuel tank. I can't, so I took the easy way out and raised the fuel tank to allow unimpeded view and access. You might be able to install the EJK without removing the fuel tank, if you had small hands and can work on electrical connectors without being able to see them. In May 2014, I installed the Dobeck AFR+ kit - see Honda CRF250L - Tuning AFR+ Over time, I modified the intake, exhaust, and engine (big bore kit), so results apply as indicated. Initially, I had no engine, intake, or exhaust mods, so my results were relevant to most readers who have stock CRFLs. The initial installation is on my CRF250L which has been modified as described on my modifications page.
